Shawn P. Ferguson, M.D., FAAP

Shawn P Ferguson, MD, FAAP:

Dr. Ferguson is the President of Lewiston Village Pediatrics. A local graduate of LaSalle Sr. High School, he went on to study at the State University of New York at Buffalo, where he graduated summa cum laude, highest honors. He continued his professional studies at the University of Buffalo School of Medicine, where he again graduated at the top of his class with summa cum laude honors. He completed his pediatric internship and residency at Children's Hospital of Buffalo. Dr. Ferguson is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP), is Board Certified in Pediatrics, and is an 18 year AAP section member of both the Council of School Health and the Council of Sports Medicine and Fitness.
In addition to his time spent in private practice, Dr. Ferguson has enjoyed teaching medical students in pediatrics and has trained and certified many health care providers in neonatal resuscitation. He has served as the Clinical Moderator of Mt. St Mary's Hospital HERO and CHEERS programs which aim to tackle obesity and other health issues facing our community youths. Dr. Ferguson is actively involved with Kids Create Hope, an organization which raises money for pediatric cancer research. He also serves as the School Physician/Medical Director for the Lewiston Porter School District. In 2015, Dr Ferguson was voted “Top Doc” in pediatrics and was featured in Buffalo Spree magazine.

When not practicing medicine, Dr. Ferguson's greatest love is spending time with his wife and two children. An avid woodworker, his passionate hobby is cutting hand-made artistic wooden jigsaw puzzles, which have been featured in prominent woodworking publications.
Donna Poirier DNP, FNP-C

Donna Poirier DNP, FNP-C:

Donna Poirier is a Doctor of Nursing Practice graduate from Loyola University in New Orleans. She received her original nursing degree from Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ontario. She continued to study at Niagara University in Lewiston, NY and then went on for her masters and doctorate from Loyola. Over the years, Donna has received many awards in Academic Excellence and Excellence in Leadership. She has been certified in Leadership Management, Pediatric and Adolescent Psychology, Critical Care; ICU/Emergency/Trauma, Air Medical Resource Management/Air Ambulance, Advanced Life Support as well as Pediatric Advanced Life Support. She is Board Certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) in Family Medicine and has chosen to practice in Pediatrics. Donna is a Professor of Critical Care and Nursing Programs in Ontario as well as Niagara University. She is also employed at a level I trauma center.   
When Donna is not working, she keeps herself busy her husband, four daughters and grandbabies. She also loves adventurous activities and energetic sports such as difficult hikes, off the grid deep canoeing/ interior camping trips, sky diving, volleyball, basketball and pretty much any other sport that gets your heart rate up. She is a musician who writes her own music. Donna and her family are very active in their church in Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada. She and her husband have worked with troubled children and teenagers for over 25 years. Donna lives on beautiful acreage in Ontario, Canada sharing it with many different types of animals.
Melanie Leberman, PA-C — Lewiston, NY — Lewiston Village Pediatrics

Melanie Leberman, PA-C

Melanie Leberman is a Physician Assistant who received her degree from Rochester Institute of Technology. She is Board certified by the National Certification Committee of Physician Assistants. She brings 20 years of experience to our practice. Melanie enjoys spending time with her husband, 2 children, and their dog Milo. You can often find her cheering for her son’s soccer team or enjoying musicals with her daughter. She has volunteered as a Troop Leader with Girl Scouts of Western New York for 12 years, coordinating camping and travel trips around the East coast. Melanie enjoys our 4 seasons in Western New York while kayaking, snow shoeing, and hiking. She loves to play board games with family and friends, especially Settlers of Catan.
